Bengaluru: BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has alleged that the chairpersons of the Guarantee Implementation Committees in the state are curtailing the rights of MLAs.
Speaking to the media after submitting a memorandum to the Honorable Governor today, Vijayendra stated that a BJP-JD(S) delegation had met the Governor to express their concerns. He pointed out that appointing chairpersons at the taluk, district, and state levels for implementing the guarantee schemes is an unconstitutional move by the Congress government.
He emphasized that taxpayers’ money is being misused and urged the Governor to intervene and advise the government.
Vijayendra further stated that in his own assembly constituency, the district in-charge minister had directed school and college oversight committees to consider names suggested by the Guarantee Implementation Committee chairperson of Shikaripura taluk. He claimed that similar actions were happening elsewhere and announced that a privilege motion would be raised in the assembly on this issue.
Criticizing the government, he accused ministers of infringing upon the rights of MLAs.
